Taking on the Creative with My Kids

Creativity plays a big role in everything I do.

The Bible says,
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

God, the most creative being there is, created us to be like Him. I truly believe that inherent in all of us is the ability to create, to make art. That means different things to different people. I love to write and draw. My husband creates order at work through calculations on spreadsheets. My kids… well, that list seems never ending.

I am over at Noodles on the Wall talking about how I ‘Take on the Creative” with my kids…how I nurture the creativity that’s on the inside of them. Hop on over and join me there

I’d love to hear what role creativity plays in your home in the comments below.

  1. My kids are grown but now I’m on round two – with GRANDKIDS! I had no idea how much fun grandkids would be.

But I was just talking about this creativity issue with my husband last night. I’m NOT creative – at least not when it comes to most things. I find building with legos and coloring stressful. Yes, stressful. All I can think of to build with legos is a tower or a house. And coloring. If it’s something easy I can do it – like a tree or flower. But when it’s a house or clothes, it stresses me out to try to decide what color to use. Does that make me a perfectionist, OCD or just not creative? Who knew coloring could be so stressful?! :)

  2. Thanks so much for stopping by from SITS…I totally agree with you that we are all born with the ability to be creative. I believe since we were made in God’s image and He is the author of creativity that we all are, too. I never like when people say they aren’t creative, because as children we all were…we just either nurture it as we grow older or allow lies to squash our confidence. I love to draw, color, glue any and everything with my 3 year old daughter, and I love to watch her imagination run wild!
