When I was a little girl I was often sick with bronchial asthma. I would cough so much that I had trouble breathing. I remember visits to the doctor’s office and frequent trips to the emergency room.
After becoming a Christian, my mom learned that Jesus not only paid the price for our salvation, He also carried our sickness in His body so that we would not have to carried it in ours. During a particularly frightening coughing fit my mom decided to intentionally believe God to heal me.
The result was a complete and total healing.
I know that God is my healer and I want my kids to know it too.
Verses for this month:
- He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did it so that we would die as far as sins are concerned. Then we would lead godly lives. His wounds have made you whole. 1 Peter 2:24 (NIrV)
- But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
- I will praise the Lord. I won’t forget anything he does for me. He forgives all my sins. He heals all my sicknesses. He saves my life from going down into the grave. His faithful and tender love makes me feel like a king. Psalm 103:2-4 (NIrV)
- He gave his command and healed them. He saved them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the miracles he does for his people. Psalm 107:20-21 (NIrV)
